Flying is something most of us do. The need to fly could be job related, or your just heading somewhere to visit family. Traveling for pleasure can only be pleasurable once you get to your destination.

Turbulent Skies
I fly a fair amount, not like George Clooney’s character in Up In The Air, but last year I logged over 60,000 miles. I hated every minute of it, until I got to where I was going. Forget about the issues of clearing the hurdles at the airport, flying today is just inconvenient. The press has lynched the airline industry these past few years. Over their fees and flight delays. The airlines have lost a lot of money, and are seeking ways to fill their coffers to return to profitability. One suggestion I have for them is if you plan on charging for everything, then get real creative. Forget about the fees for baggage. Start charging by pound of flesh. The thinner you are, the less it would cost to fly. The heavier, well you get the picture. Start charging for access to oxygen on board the flight. Air quality on planes is terrible. You feel like crap breathing that stuff on a long flight. Having an oxygen option on board would be great. I’d sign up for that one. Hire some real chefs to cook, and charge appropriately for the food. Box fare on planes is just terrible. They’re heart attacks in a box. How much cheese and crackers can you stuff in that box for six dollars? If the airlines actually made the overall experience of flying better, think what it would do for their bottom line. Savings costs equates with poor service, which equates with less people wanting to fly. Having to fly is one thing, but people in this past down economy found other ways to visit with clients and family. Ever hear of Skype and webinars? So to the airlines, give us a better product, and you’ll get your passengers back.
